A Concert in the Night - Dream Theater

Oh god, the concert… WAS AMAZING! I think it was the best one so far!
It lasted about 2 hours and a half and it was pure awesomeness! They played almost all the new Album (except for my fave song, damn) and some cool songs from older albums… They had some local classical musicians to play in a couple of songs that sounded just right. But I fail to transmit how amazing this was…
The solos just stole the night. STOLE IT.
Mike Mangini was as good as I though, or even better… I literally dropped my jaw during his solo… I kept thinking how silly I must’ve looked. He was just inhumanly perfect.
Then Petrucci did his usual magic; whenever he touches a guitar, magic happens. He has this amazing ability to infuse his music with emotion and feelings… Until you’re overwhelmed by the sound. I almost cried. And I don’t cry in public.
And last but not least; Rudess. I’m a big piano/keyboard fan ‘cause I sort of play piano too… Sort of. Still, the motherfucker man played a super heartfelt and incredibly beautiful solo (again I dropped my jaw in awe, luckily didn’t drooled) and then LaBrie comes out to the stage to say: ‘he didn’t prepared that solo; that was pure improvisation… Jordan likes to improvise his solos, he never prepares anything’. And I dropped dead right that instant.
Just when I thought I couldn’t love this band more… I will always go see them whenever they come to Argentina. And on top of this… They recorded the live DVD here! OMG! It was such an amazing concert and it’s going to be on DVD. I couldn’t be happier! Sorry to rant about this, but my night was just perfect.
